Pass Plus Modules
There are six modules to the pass plus course. This is driving done after you have passed your test. Although you should have driven on all different types of roads and conditions (except motorway), you will be driving with a "different" hat on.
You are now licenced to drive unsupervised.
The six modules are detailed below
Driving in town can be daunting: rush hour traffic, complicated junctions and traffic systems. Enhance your skills to deal with all these and more. We will explore how you are likely to react ins such situations when driving alone, with friends or on a specific journey such as your daily trip to work.
All Weather Driving
Rain, fog, bright sunshine, snow and ice: We will explore how to drive safely in all the different weather conditions you'll face on the road. Depending on the prevailing weather conditions, it may only be possible to cover the theory side of this module.
Driving Out of Town
Country roads can harbour all kinds of hazards, from sharp bends and potholes to farm vehicles and animals in the road. These roads are one of the major areas for crashes involving novice drivers. We will explore the risks attached to
negotiating these roads and how you can prepare yourself for these types of journeys.
It is possible you have driven in the dark before. Dealing with dazzle, judging distance and speed, using yourlights correctly - these are just some of the areas covered. Depending on the time of year it may only be possible to cover the theory side of this module.
To drive safely on fast, multi-lane roads you'll need all your skills of observation, concentration, anticipation and lane discipline.
Motorways are like no other roads: learn how to drive on them safely and correctly under expert supervision.
We'll not only look at the basic skils of joining, leaving, overtaking, breakdown procedure but looked at driving sustained high speed with the risks this poses.
Factors such as Fatigue, Boredom and journey planning are essential elements of this module.
Motorways are statistically the safest roads - HOWEVER, when crashes do occur they are often very serious.
Pass Plus requires a minimum of 6 hours post test driving. Although you should have experienced all modules (except motorway) prior to taking your test, this looks to enhance your skills further. In addition to developing your skills, we will look at the specific types of journeys you will make and identify where you are most vulnerable on
